What they're saying . . .

As a leader, you are only as good as those around you, and it's important to make a daily impact on each person that is looking to you for guidance and mentorship. Here are a few samples of what my colleagues have said about me:

Jenny DeLoach Zimmerman | Jeunesse Global

Nick's longtime experience in journalism, photojournalism, social media and communications enhance his keen ability to take on just about any position thrown at him. Teams who work under Nick's direction flourish, as he raises the level of commitment and enthusiasm in every one of his team members, and devotes an abundance of attention to his team's work-life balance and overall well-being. He is the kind of leader who can put a team on his back and carry it, yet he leaves no one behind. He is a teacher who ensures each individual thrives in her/his own right. He's not just great to work with -- he's fun to work with. And he humbly heaps all the credit on his team, not himself, for a job well done. He pushes everyone around him to not only succeed, but to excel above all expectations. He's a focused, goal-oriented person, and he exudes a passion for anything he takes on, expecting nothing less than 110 (more like 200) percent from himself in everything he does.

Rick Brunson | University of Central Florida

I have worked with Nick Masuda in multiple contexts. First, we worked together on the production desk at the Orlando Sentinel where he was an innovator and point person in the daily news operation. He’s the consummate problem-solver. He has sharp visual acuity of not only not only news design and graphics, but also how to resolve problems with people. Nick also taught page design and graphic illustration at the University of Central Florida where his courses were in high demand. Nick went way above and beyond his role as an adjunct instructor, engaging in advising and professional development of his students outside the classroom. Finally, I have worked with Nick for each of the past seven summers at Walsworth Publishing Company’s Camp Orlando where Nick has successfully taught, coached and mentored dozens of scholastic journalism students, helping them reach amazing levels of skill and excellence in a short amount of time. Nobody — nobody — out-hustles Nick Masuda. He has incredible energy and lifts the game of everyone around him. I am proud to call him a colleague and a friend.

Kelly Fulford | Golf Channel

Nick Masuda is one of the hardest working, dedicated, and passionate people I have ever had the privilege of working with in my career. He constantly brought new ideas and enthusiasm to work with him, and his dedication to our team helped us grow our business by over 400% in under 3 years time. He was invaluable to our team, and one of the vital pieces to our success during our years working together.

Cassie Stein | Global Golf Post

I worked for Nick at Golfweek Magazine. It was a pleasure to with for him and with him in growing the golf magazine. He was a great boss as he always listened to my ideas and asked my option about things constantly. He was always understanding about hours - because we do have crazy house in the golf business - and that was something me and other employees always appreciated. He’s a hard worker who will give 1,000 percent all the time. I would recommend Nick for any job where he is in charge because he is going to make changes - for the better - for the company he is working for.
